Did you know that when food is limited, moon jellyfish can shrink to one – tenth of their size to save energy!
We have been learning about the Solar system. We used paint, polystyrene balls, to make our planets we chose. My partner Thalia and I decided to choose Saturn and we tried to paint the polystyrene into Saturn’s colours and 1 fact about Saturn is Saturn has 7 rings. This week was really fun!
At the beginning of this term we all learned how to write a Haiku Poem. This form of poetry comes from Japan and it is 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second line and back to 5 in the third line. I had fun writing my Haiku about our swimming.
I was excited
Because the boat was moving
Nervous but happy.
Last Friday, on the 13 September I was so excited for Mission Day because Mission Day is a day where we all have fun and raise money for the Holy Angels’ Orphanage in India. When the bell rang we went to St Patrick’s church to celebrate Mission Day Mass and a new priest was there! After church we set up the Fishing things for our Mission Day stall with prizes and then it was our turn to go shopping. Then I was getting some food for my sisters and I, I got drinks, lollies, and other food.
When I went to the canopy I saw the Raffle stand so I bought one. After I bought one it was my turn to run the fishing stall and lots of people won prizes like slinky, yo-yo, lollies, pinball and more! After the whole thing we some of us cleaned the school, my friend and I took the tables back to the library and classroom. My class and I watched a movie called Pete’s Dragon and then Mrs Foden came with the sausage sizzle and gave me 2 sausages because I ordered 2. After all of my sausage Ms Kyle let us have some candy and we continued with the movie and then we finally had ICE BLOCKS!! My favourite. Then it was home time and I had a happy day!
